The objective of the "New Announcement screen" is to create submissions by defining the Issuer details and selecting the companies and/or instruments for each Issuer selected.
One or more issuers, from different exchanges, can be selected for any one announcement created. In addition to this, the announcement can relate to companies that have issued tradable instruments that are dual-listed, or where one of the company’s tradable instruments are listed on the JSE, and the other company’s tradable instruments are listed on the NSX. Furthermore, some of the companies that are contained in the announcement may not have an ordinary share listed. In each of these situations, the announcements will be issued containing slightly different information.
If the announcement relates to more than one company, then the disseminated message will contain information for all companies that the announcement pertains to. The first company entered on the “New Announcement screen” is known as the Primary Company, and the other companies are known as Related Companies. The order in which the companies appear in the messages is the same as the order in which the companies were captured on the “New Announcement screen”.
The disseminated message can only contain information for one Primary Company and a maximum of 4 Related Companies. As such, a maximum of 5 issuers/companies per exchange (JSE and NSX ) are allowed in one announcement.
IMPORTANT:
A Sponsor , Debt Sponsor , Equity Issuer , Designated Advisor and SENS Submitter cannot make announcements on behalf of their company. As such, they are not able to create SENS Submission Tokens. The required SENS Submission Token must be sent to one of the above 'roles' by the company on whose behalf they will be doing the submission. Equity Issuers are able to create SENS Submission Tokens for their sponsors. They cannot make submissions though.
An announcement can pertain to one or more companies, as well as one or more instruments.
An announcement does not have to be linked to an instrument, however, if an instrument is linked to a company then the instrument must be selected.
Note: Refer to the section "Access the New Announcement screen" for information on accessing this screen.
External Users will be able to submit announcements of behalf of 'dual-listed companies' without having to obtain a SENS Submission Token for NSX companies. External Users will still need to enter a SENS Submission Token for JSE companies. All 'non-dual listed companies', whether listed on the JSE or the NSX will require a SENS Submission Token.
